S & M SAILING ADVENTURES

Sailing Mille Lacs

Everyone knows Mille Lacs Lake for it's walleye fishing.  Perhaps the lake's best kept secret is the fine sailing experiences it offers to both the novice and the salty sea dog.

The fair winds almost always blow--and depending upon where you sail you can experience the gentle rocking of the boat as you surf over 1' waves on a run OR the constant pounding when you are on a close reach in 20 knot winds and 3' high waves.

Your first trip will consist of you getting your "sea legs", practicing "come abouts", learning the nautical terms and parts of the vessel, and going over "man overboard" drills.

Weather permitting--perhaps anchoring in "one particular harbor" could be in order for you to take a refreshing dip in the lake while the captain prepare your lunch & Margarita's.

May I suggest the sunset sail?  Fair winds, waves, tunes, beverages, the sun slowly setting in the western sky--what more could you ask for?  Always a favorite way to end the day.
